I am not familiar with the entire product line of every company, and what product people look for depends on their exact needs. Many companies have specialty cards that are meant for T1, DID, building PBXs, etc. Some companies have cards that work in normal PCI slots, some use special busses like cPCI (Compact PCI) or MVIP. For some companies I have linked to both a main page and to a particular product, this may not be the exact product you are looking for. Browse their site and if you have questions about the product line, you should email the representatives of that company.
Some companies have their own API for their cards in addition to or instead of TAPI. Using their own API you will have more power and control, but will also lock you into a particular product. CT Media is standard being promoted by Dialogic, and some other companies have taken to support it as well.
| Way2Call |
Way2Call has made a few affordable TAPI devices and has a presence in the TAPI newsgroup. A good external device for a 1-line TAPI solution that replaces a modem (voice only). |
| Dialogic |
An Intel company, Dialogic is one of the biggest names in telephony cards, and their multitude of cards are a well known standard. In addition to their own CT Media they support TAPI on several cards. |
| Brooktrout |
Although they have changed names a few times (used to be "Lucent CT" and "Rhetorex"), these cards are one of the well known standards. They have their own API (RealCT), and support TAPI on several cards, although they may be phasing TAPI support out. |
| Music Telecom |
Music Telecom seems to make everything from a nice 1 line board on up. In addition to TAPI, they claim to support all other APIs via a "Universal API". |
| Natural Microsystems |
Natural Microsystems tends to make larger high-end boards. They support TAPI on some of their products. |
| Aculab |
Aculab makes voice boards for ISDN, T1, E1 and other high-level connections. I believe they support their own API, but not TAPI. |
| TEMIC |
StarRec makes speech recognition hardware and software. I believe they support CT Media and their own API, but not TAPI. |
| AVM Fritz |
Fritz is popular maker of ISDN and T1 cards, including this USB ISDN device that supports both CAPI and TAPI. |
| Mediaphonics | Mediaphonics went out of business a few years ago, but their PhoneRider card went highly recommended as a 1-line solution. |
